It’s final time at CUS Bologna. The highlight of a season which, as always, has seen CUS Bologna at the forefront in providing top-level sporting opportunities for students of the Alma Mater Studiorum.
In mixed volleyball, which also features the Lobietti Cup – a trophy in memory of the historic CUS coach and Unibo researcher who passed away far too soon – Camplus Bononia claimed victory. A 3-1 win over Sbronzi di Riace. The closing ceremony saw the trophies presented by Marta and Matteo, respectively the wife and son of Roberto Lobietti.
There was also a mixed format in basketball, with Deportivo La Piadeina triumphing 63-43 over Orlando Tragic. With the top scorer award going to Lorenzo Filiani (Bikini Botton, 228 points in 13 matches), the task of presenting the prize fell to Simone Ciacci, the University’s managing director.
In the seven-a-side football tournament, however, Samsbuca beat Lacrima 3-1. The tournament’s top scorer was Domenico Urso (Camplus Bononia), who scored 23 goals in 13 matches. The task of presenting the trophies fell to Margherita Mezzetti, who was elected president of CUS Bologna a month ago, succeeding Piero Pagni in the role.
