Champions Europe Universitari 2025 di basketball, volley, judo e taekwondo. And part!

Three major commitments in the next fifty days. Is this the present that awaits CUS Bologna as it prepares for the European challenges in Due Torri, Budapest, and Warsaw?

The journey resumes from the sensational—and well-deserved, if somewhat unexpected—success of Jordan Losi’s women's team, which, in just a few years, has become a powerhouse in university basketball. From a bronze medal in 2023 to gold last season, they now dream of repeating their triumph, this time at home, with an outstanding roster. And what about the men’s team? Four-time European champions (first title in 2017) and fourth-place finishers last year? Yes, the squad coached by Matteo Lolli will be there too.

The EUSA European University Basketball Championships kick off today with the arrival of the delegations. Accreditation is also scheduled for today, followed tomorrow by the general technical meeting and the opening ceremony in the magnificent Aula Magna di Santa Lucia. A particularly symbolic venue, given its strong ties to the history of both the city and its teams: in the 1950s, Virtus Bologna played some of its first games there before moving to Sala Borsa, and then, in 1956, into the newly built sports arena.

From August 7 to 13, matches will feature sixteen men’s teams and twelve women’s teams—two of which proudly represent CUS Bologna.

Then, from July 26 to August 4, the European University Volleyball Championships will take place. The women’s team, coached by Leonardo Palladino, just clinched the national title. After four consecutive championships, they’re now aiming to extend their dominance, even away from the comforts of home in Bologna.

From August 21 to 26, a shorter but equally intense stretch brings the European University Championships in Judo and Taekwondo. In judo, under the guidance of Fabio Fabbroni, CUS Bologna has dominated the past two editions thanks to star athlete Betty Vuk. In taekwondo, Roberto Boghi’s team made a stunning debut last year, with Giuditta Carlino claiming gold and Sadid Ayoub taking bronze. Also set to compete is Silvia Lombardi. Once again, CUS Bologna is ready to raise the flag of the Alma Mater Studiorum across Europe.
