Like a steamroller. The University of Bologna’s women’s volleyball team have also beaten the University of Zagreb, 3–0 (25–20, 25–19, 25–7), and have qualified for the semi-finals of the EUSA European University Championships in Salerno. The semi-final is scheduled for tomorrow at 6.30 pm against the Hungarian University of Sports Science.
Sara Fontemaggi is delighted. “We’re really pleased to be in the semi-finals. We took to the court with the right determination and with the aim of going far. We’ve managed it.”
Alice Trampus continues to shine, ranking among the top scorers in the team coached by Leonardo Palladino.
“I’m really very pleased with this team, with how we’re playing and how we’re developing. It wasn’t an easy start, but we stuck together and secured a victory that now allows us to play in the semi-final.”
We also spoke to one of CUS Bologna’s officials, Alessandro Vitti. “It was potentially a difficult match. There were plenty of pitfalls, but the girls did well to go into the game with the right spirit and maintain it right to the end. We’re back in the top four now, but that’s still not enough for us.”
