The Alma Mater Studiorum table tennis team finished in ninth place in Salerno, where the European University Championships are currently underway. The women’s team, after losing 3-0 to Vilnius, went on to defeat Wueb 3-2. The men’s team, after winning 3-2 against Ljubljana, faced Lausanne in the round of 16. The 3-0 loss means Unibo is now in ninth place.
The men’s team consists of Daniele Rossi, Nicolò Pierpaoli, Andrea Belardinelli, and Jonas Micocci. On the women’s team, alongside Nefeli Ppali, are Irem Balbay and Rachele De Luca. Chiara Boschi is the official for CUS Bologna.
Tomorrow’s schedule features the debut, at 11 a.m., of the women’s basketball team—the defending champions, coached by Jordan Losi—who will face the University of Freiburg. At 12 p.m., meanwhile, the women’s volleyball team, led by Leonardo Palladino, will seek their third consecutive victory against Masaryk University. At 3:30 p.m., the men’s basketball team, under the expert guidance of Matteo Lolli, will play against the University of Debrecen (Hungary).
Table tennis will also be in action with a team competition for the women and all singles matches.
