There is great satisfaction for CUS Bologna and the University of Bologna: Christian Degli Esposti competed with the Italian national team at the World Finswimming Championships, held in South Korea. The CUS athlete, coached by Veronica Arrighi, has once again confirmed his international calibre by winning a splendid silver medal in the 200 monofin event, finishing in a time of 1’20”65.
This is a highly prestigious achievement, which places him amongst the world’s best in the discipline and rewards a journey characterised by hard work, consistency and great determination. Degli Esposti, a student at the University of Bologna, perfectly embodies the link between top-level sport and academic pursuits, representing CUS Bologna and his alma mater on the world stage.
There was also great satisfaction from his coach, Veronica Arrighi: “This silver medal is hugely significant. I knew Christian’s true worth even before the stopwatch confirmed it, because I’ve seen him grow every day – in training, through the sacrifices he’s made, and in his ability to never give up in the face of difficulties. The time of 1’20”65 and the world podium are the result of a journey we’ve built together, with commitment, trust and determination. I am immensely proud of him: today, a dream we had the courage to pursue has become a reality.”
