First place in the group for CUS Bologna, after defeating, once again by 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-20), the hosts from Corvinus University of Budapest. CUS Bologna is competing in Hungary on the occasion of the EUSA European University Women’s Volleyball Championships, with the team from Alma Mater Studiorum having won the last four titles. Now a day of rest and then, on Friday, the quarterfinal clash against the Turkish team (Yasar University), already worth access to the medal zone.
Arianna Gambini does not hide her happiness.
“Nothing was guaranteed, even though we had won the first two matches. We came together and we’re ready for anything. Now we know that the Turkish team awaits us, and we are aware that we’ll need to pay closer attention to every single play.”
Sofia Migliorini is also satisfied.
“We made things difficult for ourselves at the beginning, then we started playing as a team, varying our offensive schemes, because they proved to be really good in defense. Now it gets serious, it’s win-or-go-home matches, and we want to be ready.”
