Second game and second win in Salerno for the University of Bologna men’s basketball team, competing in the EUSA European University Championships. The game against the University of Debrecen ended 99-71 (21-31; 46-39; 70-54), with Matteo Lolli’s shouts heard all the way back in Bologna, rousing a team that had been too lackluster on defense during the first ten minutes.
Matteo Dias doesn’t hide the fact that it was a bit of a rough start: “We knew it was an important game. We wanted to get off to a good start, but we didn’t manage to. Then, however, the quality of our defense improved, and as a result, we were able to score more consistently. The final result is good, but we need to improve.”
Manuele Solaroli echoed similar sentiments. “It was a bit of a rough start,” he said. “They started running right away, and we struggled. But we have a deep roster, and we’ve improved. We need to look ahead with confidence, knowing that we have a high-caliber team that can keep getting better.”
