The CUS Bologna finswimming team continues to shine, returning from Massarosa (Lucca) with an impressive third-place finish in the team standings and numerous top placements. The action took place at Lake San Rocchino: the first stop of the Italian Open Water Long-Distance Cup. And CUS Bologna, led by coach Alex Battista, racked up a total of 214 points.
In the 3,000-meter finswim event, Matilde Del Greco stood out with her victory, finishing first among the seniors, while Giulia Savino took the top spot in the 2 category, narrowly missing the podium. On the men’s side, Davide Campagnoli delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall and first among the seniors, and Matteo Bacciottini made an excellent debut in his first open-water competition, winning his category.
There were also strong performances in the monofin events, with podium finishes by Emma Musolesi and Vittoria Rizzello—both of whom placed second in their respective categories—and a third-place finish by Alice Falchi. It is worth noting that Matilde Del Greco, a student at the University of Bologna, is part of the Dual Career program, underscoring the strong connection between athletic pursuits and academic studies.
This overall result is a testament to the team’s hard work and gives CUS Bologna confidence heading into the rest of the season.
