The Spring National University Championships, hosted by CUS Piemonte Orientale, are in full swing.
It was a mixed day for CUS Bologna, who failed to add to their medal haul (which remains of the highest calibre and standing), but who continue to develop their players.
The rugby team, for example, got off to a flying start. First a clear victory over CUS Pavia, 47-0, then another win against CUS Florence, 34-7. To gauge their prospects, we will now have to wait for their clash with CUS Genova.
And now over to tennis, where Clara Sansoni lost only in the third set, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. Vittoria Modesti continues her winning run in the women’s singles, first winning 4-6, 7-5, 3-0, then, in the quarter-finals, doing even better with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. In the semi-finals, she will now face Comino, the number 2 seed. In the doubles, Nicola Ravaioli and Andrea Valli won 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.
