Adaptive Swimming for Adults

AFA classes offer water-based physical activity exercises and swimming lessons tailored to individual needs, designed for adults with joint and mobility issues, coordination difficulties, or specific neurological conditions. They provide personalized programs led by qualified instructors to ensure a safe and stimulating experience. Individual 45-minute lessons are offered on a 1:1 basis. If necessary, a lift is available to assist with entering and exiting the water.

Objectives:

  • To stimulate the musculoskeletal system, the metabolic system, and the central and peripheral nervous systems.
  • To reduce muscle stiffness, increase muscle tone, and improve joint range of motion.
  • To learn adapted swimming techniques.
  • To improve motivation and interpersonal relationships.
