Cus Bologna 2026–2027 Sports Season

Following the major summer successes on the European stage—the men’s basketball title and the women’s volleyball title—the sports season is set to begin again for Alma Mater Studiorum. Students will have the opportunity to choose their favorite sport and experience it within an academic setting, at top-notch facilities, with highly qualified instructors and coaches.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, the season officially reopens—a year, in keeping with Unibo’s tradition, dedicated to physical activity, well-being, social interaction, and a passion for sports, with programs designed to engage students, University of Bologna staff, and anyone who wishes to participate in sports, regardless of age or skill level.

The CUSB is thus ready to welcome athletes to its facilities and locations in Bologna, Rimini, Forlì, Cesena, and Ravenna, with dozens of activities including courses, training sessions, tournaments, championships, events, and opportunities to enjoy sports in good company. But how can you participate in the Alma Mater Studiorum’s sports activities? It’s very simple: all you need to do is obtain a CUSB membership card for the 2026/2027 season, which also ensures you have the necessary insurance coverage.

As always, special attention is given to freshmen at the Alma Mater Studiorum, who are offered a unique opportunity: membership is free. In addition, the membership card entitles you to two free admissions, either to CUSB classes (subject to availability) or to Alma Gym facilities.

You can sign up online or at any of the CUSB offices, starting with the main office located at Via San Giacomo 9/2.

What’s on offer? Courses, both recreational and competitive. Plus water sports, dance, fitness, individual sports, and team sports, with opportunities for both those under 18 and over 18, and at different skill levels—all to ensure the widest range of options. For college students, there’s an additional opportunity: the Pro-Ben 2 Project, dedicated to promoting the well-being of the student population through sports.

The project allows students to participate in free sports activities, offering them the chance to take care of their well-being, get some exercise, and share sports experiences at no cost. It’s an opportunity to integrate sports into university life and make physical activity an important part of daily life. University facilities also offer spaces and equipment for those who wish to train more independently or follow a specific training program. Where can you take advantage of these opportunities? At the Record swimming pool, for example. Or at the CUS Terrapieno track and field facility. And let’s not forget the Alma Gyms—well-equipped and accessible spaces designed specifically for Unibo students and staff.

The month of September will also be an opportunity to learn about and try out some of the activities offered by CUSB. Among the events are the Open Days for the swimming and tennis schools. These Open Days are the perfect opportunity to try a new sport, meet the instructors, and discover the athletic programs offered by CUS Bologna. And to help you navigate these options, here’s the calendar of events organized by CUS Bologna.

It’s a way to enjoy sports while building team spirit with friends and teammates.
